2.4 ghz Spektrum DX7 and Futaba 9c with Spektrum 2.4 ghz module
We get asked about the FPV gear we commonly use so the Project pages are here to share this info.
The Basics
1. The most used Transmitter is the Spektrum DX7 but we also use the Futaba 9c with a 2.4ghz Spektrum module when using a Head-Tracker or when needing more channels.
2. The standard 900mhz 500mw wireless video TX from HobbyWireless.com and DPCAV.com
3. Basic 900mhz receiver with whip or patch antenna....but most often the whip for low level heli flights.
4. Since we commonly fly Helicopters a 7" monitor is used . No Panning, just Tilting with panning done by heli and pilot.
5. Video Goggles: I-Vision with resolution 640X480. This is the lowest res. acceptable for reading OSD's.
6. For planes we use a Futaba 9c TX/Spektrum module with Head-Tracking along with video goggles. Most planes we fly have the basics with panning only controlled by the rudder stick movement.
7. Radio RX used are Spektrum AR7000 and AR9000 series. FPVpilot.com does not recommend the short range RX's like AR6100/5100 series and such.
8. Most of the gear we use comes from good vendors like HobbyWireless.com , DPCAV.com , NGHobbies.com , ReadyMadeRC.com and EagleTreeSystems.com .
