FPV Emaxx 4X4 Project
The Traxxas E-maxx is a great truck for adding FPV gear. It is strong, big spongy tires, good wheel travel, 2 speed trans, 4X4 and doesn't break that often which is why I choose it for my FPV driver. I use my aircraft 900mhz 500mw wireless video system along with a Futaba 2.4 ghz Fasst RC car radio. The 900mhz band allows for good range and penetration around obstacle's where other freq bands can't do as well like 1.2, 2.4 or 5.8 ghz. The nice thing with an FPV car is using them to test and/or getting fimilar with FPV systems before adding the gear to my aircraft. My FPV camera panning servo is mixed with the steering so I can easily look into a turn where the tilt servo is activated with a switch (Ch.3).
